AFP Staff Training

First Response Instructions equips staff with the necessary life skills and knowledge to deal with small workplace fires promptly and safely.  You will be trained in emergency response procedures, fire hose reels, fire blankets, fire extinguishers, fire classes and the principles on combustion. The QLD Building Fire Safety Regulations 2008 and Australian Standards AS 3745-2010 requires all staff to be trained in first response procedures every 2 years.

On the successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a record of achievement. As part of your workplace induction, you must also have received instructions regarding your building fire safety reference points such as location of fire fighting equipment, intercommunication devices in your building, means of raising the alarm, manually operated fire alarm, building exits, fire stairs and location of your building assembly areas. These reference point are also identified on your building Evacuation Diagrams. It is also expected that you will participate in a building evacuation practice on an annual basis.    Click to listen highlighted text!
